Dream Catchers

Dream Catchers

The dream catcher is from traditional Native American culture. It was thought to protect a sleeping child from frightening dreams, by catching the bad dreams permanently and letting the good dreams pass through the web. However alternatively it has also been said that the bad dreams escape through the central hole and are then no longer a part of the person; leaving the good dreams in the web to hold their fortune.
Traditional dream catchers would have been handmade, and is a circular woven web that would have been decorated with beads, gems, bells, shells, leather pouches, and feathers etc.
